I have never seen a goalie play outside thier position. The rules prohibit them from going only to certain point.Ron Hextall who played with Philadelphia has scored empty net goals. It is very rare feat often rarely even tried because when oppostion has a 6th attacker on it is the the winning teams big advantage to score a goal to end any hope of the losing team tieing or winning the game. They would rather see a position player score.
