I've seen an old friend from high school who is a CHP spokeman now.
I've seen an old college friend leading a Gay Pride parade (I didn't know he was gay, but always wondered...).
My dad knew Lee Baca when I was a little girl -- so that's been a kinda odd to see him on the news so much.

When I was about 13 I knew this girl, Robin, that everybody teased and made fun of at school (not me). I felt sorry for her. She was 'different' but I couldn't exactly put my finger on what it was that made her different. I remember one night I was in my parent's room watching the 10:00 news. They ran a story about a murder/suicide. Turns out Robin's mother had stabbed her and then shot herself. They showed the draped gurnies carrying Robin and her mom out. Tragic.
