Heritage Square is totally fun for kids too. You could also take the kids to a baseball game at Coors Field. Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys, Firefighter's museum. The Wildlife Experience in Parker.

The suggestion for the zoo and the childrens museum is the best one you got. and...There are NO ski lodges in DENVER!!! That person is way off!!! Another great place the kids would love is Casa Bonita. See website below. Best to go about 5 p.m. If you wait till too much later there will be a long line. Kids LOVE it. Have a great time. Be sure to wander through the whole place and stay long enough to see the divers and the little skits with cowboys and the sheriff. If you are going to be in the Denver area a few days, go to the Butterly Pavilion, north of Denver in Westminster...it is amazing See websites below.

Well the Titanic exhibit happens to be in town and that was really fun to go to. It's located in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Denver also has a really cool zoo. Or you can go to the childrens museum, molly brown's house, downtown aquarium, or botanic gardens.
My faveorite attraction in denver though, is lakeside. It's kinda like elitches, but less rollercoasters. theres a kitty section for the little ones and then theres another part for older kids and teenagers. there is the ride zoom, which is like a tower of doom, then theres a roller coaster, and a bunch of other rides. the older kid rides open at 6, and the kitty land rides open at 1. theres also elitches, and that has alot of rollercoasters. but thats not all, theres more:

theres
denver center for the performing arts
the denver public library
denver firefighters museum
the butterfly pavillion
tiny town, and theres also some parades coming up.
denver also has alot of rec centers.
try the golden rec center, the apex, etc.

im not sure if water world will still be open, but thats a great experience.

hope i helped!

Rockies game, Casa Bonita (incredibly tacky, but kids love it), Denver Zoo. Red Rocks, if you can drive west a bit to the foothills.

Denver has a nice zoo that is really inexpensive to get into.
There are some really nice parks, including the one that surrounds the zoo.

we went to denver when i was 10 and my parents took me and my brother to the National Mint. we saw coins being made and it was fun and educational. this was over 20 years ago though, so you will want to check and see if they still do tours after 9-11
