Context is the current political setting -- what is happening at the time and what the media is talking about.

Parody is show by hyperbole -- things that should not be taken literally, but raise a point to be considered.

Example: The context of this political cartoon is blatantly liberal.
It refers to the inference on what a viewer might render.

Doonesbury use to be in the cartoon section in my local newspaper but now has been moved to the political/editorial section due to its "political context"

Context refers to what's going on when the cartoon is published (it does NOT refer to what newspaper it's in).
