Right now prices are $3 and probably will get up to or over $3.50 for the summer. People will complain. then prices will drop back down to $3 before winter. as programed we will then be happy about it. but we are crying about $3 now. whats the difference between now and winter? next year we will do the same but the price will average $4.

It a supply and demand issue. For example, I know for a fact with the kids return to the university next week the gas will go up here. I live in KY. The gas is $2.66 today but next week I am sure there will be a huge increase. The way it work, one station raises their price and the others follow suit. What is so strange to me is the stores that sell the gas do not make their money from the gas they sell. They make it from the the merchandise they sell, not the gasoline. It's the oil companies making the money and the government doesn't seem to be too worried about it. By the way, my husband drives gasoline transport and gets blamed for the price of the gas by customers when he is working. We pay the same as everyone else. The government needs to step forward and take a stand on this issue but that is not likely to happen. Just my opinion.

The government control the prices of gas and if they have to pay more for their gas than the consumer must pay more. and you are right people should do something besides complain about gas prices see i don't drive so it doesn't bother me. In the summer price rises because people are taking trips and ridding up and down.

It's a product that is heavily tax by our representatives. Heck they even suggest adding more taxes for those poor folks in Minnesota to build a bridge. Here in Florida 48 cents of every gallon is tax. Can you imagine the stink if they taxed that much on a cup of coffee? Wait they were trying to do that too lol...but really it's just a matter of accepting the fact that a product that is going to run out is valuable. People have to adjust their thinking and their spending habits and learn to live with it.

Why should anyone care, I've seen a guy buy ten dollars worth of gas at a Wal-Mart station and buy three cartons of cigarettes at $132.00: another the same day got three cases of water, the one with the coke label for $108.00 I guess he didn't see the news about Coke selling plain old tap water, this is what he bought.
Two young girls each bought $40.00 worth of beauty aides.

So, I ask why should the price of gas bother anyone when they spend their money on foolish items to start with.
I and my wife live on social security, due to circumstances we couldn't control all our money we banked on had to be spent, leaving us broke.
We live on 1500 dollars a month, this includes about $600.00 for meds the Government doesn't cover, if not for the doc and freebees we'd have to be on our own. I watch the price of gas, it hurts people in our category real bad. The senior generation.

I bought a hybrid. I try to walk or ride my bike where I can. It's not much, but it is a start. What are you doing besides complaining to us?

Not all people are doing nothing. Some are using alternate forms of fuel.
