We all have our own unique perspective, so one could say that my world is not the same world as anyone elses. I believe that reality is a bit different for each individual and yes life is a kind of dream based upon our conditioning, and learning.
It is a difficult question to answer; is what we see, feel, taste, touch real? Read the book "The Four Agreements" by Miguel Ruiz; it is an awesome book. It answers your question.

According to Deepak Chopra, Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire, there are 3 levels or domains of existance. The physical domain, needs no explanation, the quantum domain, quarks and such, and the virtual domain, the non-local domain, where we are pure potential... not even thought and energy. It is what binds the quantum particles into atoms and the atoms into molecules and the molecules into structures. The organizing force behind all things.
Does this answer your question, probably not, but read the book and you might get an idea...

This question is discussed by the Buddhist philosopher Vasubandu, who thinks that reality is similar to a dream in all important respects. Check out the Twenty Verses for his arguments.

You are not experiencing life. You are only remembering what is happening. You have no way of touching the event that is happening as it is your sensory organs that are filtering it to your brain which is translating it into your knowledge and world model. This all happens after the zero event. Wouldn't you classify this as dreaming?

Does it matter? It is interesting to notice how distressed our species is over issues of reality.

It is a very partial memory of what happened a little while ago along with fears of what may happen later.

Depends on your point of view, literally, and on how you define "dream."
