started taking them? Barry apologist say steroids do not help eye hand coordination and that is true but it can help bat speed since with HGH you are increasing muscle mass which in turn should make the bat lighter in your arms. Steroids will also help you not fatigue as easy and able to put better at bats together through out the season. Steroids will also help you recover, so you can perform on high levels in back to back games. The exra strength will also allow you to hit balls out of the park that you might not have been to before because of the extra power. How did his home run output miraculously increase at his age? steroids of course,Only a fool thinks steroids do not help peoples performance because if it did'nt why would the athletes be taking the stuff? Barry is a cheat, he cheated Hank and you know it? home run king don't mean nothing, it is just a title, a title unfairly taken. discuss

Obviuosly you chumps do not lift weights because then you would know that lifting would be a big help, since I lift everyday you will just have to take my word. It helps big time, especially with bat control, bat speed, and fatigue.

Nobody needs to apologize for Barry's true skill, and that's playing baseball. He may have slowed down since taking HGH and steroids, but still has the skills learned from his Dad and Godfather.
Stupid people think that bigger muscle mass makes you swing the bat faster, but instead restricts your range of motion, which stops you from making any type of fluid motion to make contact with the ball.
Retards say that it makes your eyesight sharper. Untrue. It will diminish your vision sharpness to where you cannot see and follow the trajectory of the ball good enough to be able to make contact with the bat. You need hand-eye coordination to play baseball successfully, and steroids will not do that for you!
Idiots say that steroids will give you superhuman strength but if that is so, why do they give Barry Bonds a day off after every night game? Does a person with unbelieveable strength need a break? I doubt it!
Unless you know what you are talking about, steroids will definitely help you play other sports better, but not baseball, and if you truly are a baseball fan, you should know that Henry Aaron also revealed to a reporter that he took amphetamines.....
The younger generation like you are just stupid and waste our time with garbage riddled with false hatred and nonsense. Go molest yourself or commit suicide if Barry Bonds irritates you so much!

For years 40 to 50 home runs leads the league. In a very short span 3 guys start hitting 60-70 and steroids are a big issue. People start testing and acusing and the home run numbers fall back in line with history.
Steroids do not help hit the ball, but a long fly turns into a home run.

I personally consider the question of steroid use irrelevant. If we want to ban athletes from improving their talent level, then to not be hypocritical, we have to ban alot of things. We have to ban Tommy John Surgury because it is unfair to the great pitchers who lost their careers to injury. We should ban the use of the Stick by Stan bat. We should repeal the clean baseball rule that was put in place after Ray Chapman died. The anti-steroid arguments are just as absurd. I don't care whether Bonds did steroids or not. He has a right to do whatever he wants with his body (as everybody does), even if some people may not always respect those rights (for example, our society has an idiotic Drug War and idiotic laws prohibiting people under some arbitrary age from drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco). Whether or not we believe a choice is desirable, it is still wrong to prohibit somebody from making that choice, provided that choice doesn't directly harm others (for example, a choice to murder somebody or to steal). If Bonds used steroids, not only was it not against baseball's rules, but regardless of what the government (and their media propaganda organ) thinks, he had every right to do so.

Moved to a new home park in 2000.
Started using maple bats in 1998.
Maybe he starts his days with fresh milk and a wholesome prayer, but prefers not to discuss his religion and/or spirituality.
There are other factors out there, some obvious, some plausible, some less so, that may have helped change the arc of Bonds' amazing career.
I won't deny the steroids; the (criminally leaked) grand jury testimony is good enough for me. But it doesn't explain everything (and may not explain anything).
But the lynch mobs don't care; cold logic and fact-based reasoning just get caught up on the pitchforks and put a bluish tinge on the torches.

Now if the accusations are correct and Bonds took various steroids and steroid-like sustances from 1999-2003 in untested eras(he has not flunked a test since testing started). During that 5 year period Bonds hit 247 home runs. It is possible to attribute possibly 40 of the home runs have been aided by steroid strength. Possibly, considering Bonds age, steroids could have allowed him to work and recover enough to provide enough game time to allow him to hit 60 home runs more than he might have had he missed the time. So at maximum maybe 100 home runs were steroid aided.
On the other hand he missed most of 2005 with a bad knee that did not respond well to an operation. It is likely that the steroids may have contributed to the knee injuries. Missing most of that season cost Bonds at least 30 home runs.

steroids DO help you "put the bat on the ball" steroids are testosterone, increased testosterone increases adrenaline, which controls hand eye coordination and allows you to turn on inside pitches faster than the average hitter. Taking steroids doesn't help you hit the ball if you don't know how, but if you already know how, it increases your ability to hit the ball. Also you forgot about the over-aggressiveness and overconfidence steroids cause which allows you to stand in on a 95 mph fastball

Barry Bonds never tested positive for steroids nor did he ever take any HGH. There is more HGH in the chicken you just ate than the entire Bonds family combined.
Clemens may have taken some steroids tho.

for one thing when barry gets cought(assuming that he is on them) then you can talk about him taking roids. and another thing why is it that people only look at the hitters for taking them. this is the steroid era. so there for it's not limited to just hitters. so what i'm gettin at is people kinda look past the point that there are some pitchers out ther who are on them, so get off of barrys back. he is the new home run king, and one of the best if not the best of all time. and another thing in 8 years when A-rod is fixin to break barry's record then will he to come under all the scruenteny as well?

That Balco steroid expert did years of testing and he told Bob Costas that steroids would help in batting average too! That is why Bonds went from a .290 hitter to a .350 hitter.

it did not help him hit the ball whatsoever.
barry can/ could just put the bat on the ball.
however, he took steriods, which made him hit the ball substantially farther, and had he not been able to hit the ball as far, i garuntee you that he would have less homeruns, a lower on base percentage (since he would not have gotten purposely walked so much), and a lower batting average, since less hits would be out of the park and more would be pop flys.
