i happen to be not very talented in algebra.. but physics is okay. should that matter?

Honestly, on the job, no you don't. You'll need some to get through school though.

Good question. My university offers a 4 year degree in a radiologist tech sort of thing and I know they have to take college level physics and stuff. So, you need to be good at math.

I would say yes. If you were giving me an x-ray and the settings were off and you didn't have an idea of the dose you were giving me, then I would get pretty upset.
