Our pool cleaner robot has been broken all summer and we just recently replaced it. I have been shocking the pool and using a clarifier, and I did put algaecide in it about two weeks ago. It is still very green and foggy. Helpppp

You need to backwash it after you use the algaecide( 24 hours after) and if your shocking it use a liquid chlorine. Use like 4 gallons of chlorine and keep it filtering 24 hours a day repeat chlorine treatment if still green in couple of days. If that still doesn't work you probably have a filtration problem.

Vacuum, scrub, filter continuously. You'll either spend the $$ on electricity for the filter, water to refill. Algaecide should have worked within 24 hours. If you are vacuuming several times a day, scrubbing down the sides and running the filter continuously (and back flushing) then you may need to punt and start all over. I'm saddened you couldn't get out there with a pole and vacuum head and do your own cleaning.....the way it was done before robots.

Call a Pool maintenance Co. you are spending more on chemicals then what a good maintenance program would run you. They are the experts and won't have to "hit or miss" as you are. Added bonus--you will actually get to use your pool this summer!

Replace the filter or filtering material. Shock and vacuum again after the stuff settles. Check the filter to see if it needs to be replaced again. You may have to repeat the process several times. Good luck.
