It is a common misconception that ethanol has less CO2 emissions than gasoline. Ethanol actually has the same, if not more CO2 emissions.

It was to replace MBTE, yes..... why is that a myth?

And ethanol is not a solution to the global climate change problem, because it is a horribly inefficient fuel source -- the costs of producing it far outweigh the benefits in using it.

Ethanol is affecting global warming more than gas does, the only ones benefiting from ethanol, are the corn farmers, their price has doubled, in iowa the plants that process this junk are popping up all over, affecting the climate...

Ethanol seems to be a temporary solution. To be honest we should be running our cars on electricity or on hydrogen. We'
re using less oil, but we're still using oil. We won't be completely rid of our dependence on the middle east until we stop using oil altogether
