I agree that they'll have a winning season and maybe win the wildcard. I watched the first half of the 1st preseason game. They looked good. Alex Smith seems to be improving. I think the 49ers made a good choice picking him first in 2005.
They could use better protection, but overall the entire team played well.
Broncos are a good team.

I totally agree with what you say. I think they will be a wild card team. If not, they will be competing for a playoff spot. I think they will finsh the season with a winning record 9-7 (or possibly 10-6).
I think the defense will be much improved from last year with the addition of Nate Clemens and Patrick Willis. Mike Nolan finally has the right players for the 3-4 defense and he will mastermind a good defensive strategy for the team. Much like he did in Baltimore.
I think Frank Gore will still be a top knotch running back but most opposing defenses will focus on stopping him. With opposing defenses designing schemes to limit Frank Gore, the big question will be Alex Smith. He went from a bad quarterback to a mediocre one last year. With the loss of Norv Turner it will be interesting to see how Alex Smith progresses. But with the addition of Darren Jackson and Ashley Lelie and a healthy Vernon Davis, things will be a lot easier for Alex Smith.
Anyways thats just what I think.

Im thinking 3rd in the NFC West with the Seahawks 2nd and the Rams 1st. Their team is average on both sides of the ball in my opinion, and could be a playoff team, but the Seahawks are better on both sides of the ball, and even though the Rams' defense is shaky their offense is expected to be the best this year. Overall record for the 49ers 8-8

I think this year the 49ers are going to be a better team. They will most likely be a team that would go to to the playoffs.

I think that they are one or two years away from a serious playoff run. they could easily win the division this year but lose in the playoffs. This is from a BRONCO fan.

i think they will be a 8-8 team because there secondary is a little shakey! but gore should do good! in a couple of years they will be dangerous as alex smith and vernen davis mature!!!
