I like both but prefer knitting as it doesn't aggravate my carpal tunnel problem as much as crochet. Crochet is easier to learn but uses more yarn than knitting. With crochet if you aren't careful when you turn a row you can end up with not enough stitches or too many. With knitting you can drop a stitch, however, with both arts you can pull out a row or two or three and correct your mistakes fairly easily, once you get the hang of it.

crocheting is much easier than knitting if you are just starting out with a hobby . knitting takes a lot of concentration and stitches have a habit of dropping which can throw your whole pattern out if you don't keep track of each row. with crochet, you only have one st to worry about at a time .you still have to count your st after eack round for the same reason . my personal favourite is making doillies., with baby afghans a close second. they have" how to " cds available for crocheting and knitting at most craft store and walmart. have fun!

Knitting is easier for me. I've tried to learn to crochet but I've never picked it up. I regret that I haven't learned. My mom is a wonderful knitter and crocheter. I'm sorry that the talent won't be passed down. She makes the most beautiful crocheted Christmas Decorations out of crochet cotton.

Crochet takes more yarn then knitting, but you should learn both. ^_^ Some things like blankets should be crocheted while hats and mittens should be knitted. ^+^

I crochet. One less needle to keep track of. I also find there is more freedom with patterns.
