I don't know that I want to get an agent - do you have to have one to get an audition?

You can sign up with places like ActorsAccess and NowCasting, and submit for commercial work. Of course I am assuming that you live in the LA area. But there are tons of actors using these sites and the chances of getting booked on anything through them is next-to-none. But here are the links if you are interested:

Now Casting is by far the most widely used by casting people, even more so than actorsaccess, plus they have a whole lot of other very useful resources, etc.:

But the reality is that aside from doing extra work on commercials (where the competition is also very stiff), you probably will never get booked on a commercial without an agent.

If you have an agent, ask him or her why you are not being submitted for commercials. Perhaps you are not "right," for commercials.
