Is it becoming a growing trend that American women cannot cook and feed their children and themselves McDonalds and get fat?

It is true that society has not been teaching a lot of its females how to cook and they took out mandatory cooking classes in high schools, but I mostly think that McDonald's seems like an easy way to work around a busy lifestyle. Yet, McDonald's serves byproducts in their meat, so i dont' see how that can be a good alternative. McDonald's is the cheapest fast food and can actually prove less expensive than eating at home, but it's not good for you. Many women think that their salads are good for you, but they're not. They have iceberg lettuce, as healthy as cardboard (not good or bad for you), with dressing that has higher fat than the burgers. And yes, most of it is because the women can't cook or they think that there are actual healthy alternatives at McDonald's (which is not true).

Right- American women can't cook- we don't even have kitchens over here - I mean- why bother? We can go to McDonalds or Taco Bell whenever we want! And what country are you from?
Seriously- we can cook over here in the USA- just come on over for a little Thanksgiving Day feast and you will return to your country with a whole new outlook.
McDonald's is great if you are single..had a long day and are just too tired.....but not often. Just on occasion as a nice little guilty pleasure-
I think Mickey D's is getting expensive especially these new ones with the Bistro attached! LOL

Where did you hear that random BS? No, it isn't true. But at the same time it is. Women can cook just fine. But we live in a time where to stay out of debt, both parents need to work full time. Gone are the days when women stayed at home all day. Now they either get home and immediately have to cook dinner or they can order something/pick something up on the way home.

So it's not a matter of them wanting to do it, it's a matter of just not having the time in the day to cook a full and healthy meal every single day. There are many other factors too of course, such as lazier children resulting in obesity.

Yes because all Americans are the same & yes they want their children to die of a heart attack you are such a xenophobic ignorant fool. Okay these are the reasons 1) Sometimes the parent or parents are working excessively and don't have the time to prepare foods at home 2) In the southern regions of the USA people tend to be less health conscientious when it comes to food they don't have as many healthy alternatives as up north. It's pretty much impossible in the deep country to find fruit markets and vegetarian friendly restaurants, and they get more seduced down there because they have fricken supermarkets like piggly wiggly it's like you are praised for eating bad! So I guess the southerners probably are thinking what the heck? I might as well get fastfood cause soul food can be very unhealthy too. 3) Sometimes the kids end up getting addicted and will throw a tantrum if they don't get their way.4) Fast food is pretty much everywhere and temptation is hard. EDIT:Darling sofia is such a annoying little priss she probably paints her room in all paint. Shes disgusting because she's judge mental and really snobbish. She is so illogical she doesn't understand the idea of MODERATION!

I don't know where you heard that, but that's not true. A lot of women can cook. Besides, who would want to eat McDonald's everyday of the week? That would get tiresome.

I don't even know where you heard that malarky from, but quite a few American women (I am one), can and do cook!! Maybe I can't cook "fancy", but I can make a mean pot of venison chilli that my husband loves!!!
Not all American women have the time to cook if they hold down a job (or more than one job), but not all American women go to the fast food restaurants constantly.
Needless to say, McDonald's Restaurants (and all fast food restaurants that I know of, have more than just the burgers and fries), they have salads and chicken at them!
Your question is an insult to the American women and to the American public in general!

Sounds like someone's been feeding you some hooey...I am an American woman so I think I am qualified to answer this question.

Sure, there are McDonald's eating moms here but don't they have McDonalds restaurants in just about every country these days?

I cook very well and all the time. So do my other mom friends. I think you are stereotyping, don't you?

I don't think it is true, the supermarkets will be out of business if it is; it is probably true that from time to time they do feed their children McDonald's when they are pressed for time or as a treat, I do that myself. It is eating too much that make people fat not eating McDonald's, I am certain that you can get fat eating sushi if you can afford to eat too much of it.

This is not true. There may be some lazy women out there, but I personally work full time, am a single mother, cook dinner EVERY night and still have time to take my son to football practice and soccer practice among other things.
These people that you're referring to are just lazy! They have way too many excuses.

I cook most of the time, but my children do get the occasional McDonalds meal too, this is a treat for them. Everything in moderation. My family is healthy and in a normal weight range so i am not concerned. yes, we do tend to overschedule and as a result turn to convenience but there are healthy conveniences too. Subway and Fazoli's have great healthy choices for busy moms. McDonalds is a treat, eating homemade meals is the norm.
