It says it makes it easier to drink out of, but I don't understand why they have so much extra tubing. Can someone explain this to me?

I believe the extra tubing is intended to work as a vent, which would permit variations in flow as you swallow, rather than choking you, or backing up and coming out your mouth (or nose).

Kind of the way a sewer vent lets a sink drain smoothly.

Lie down, put the small end in your mouth. Have your Friend stand on a chair with the big end over your head.
Friend pours beer in big end.
Repeat as needed

Because it has two tubes so more can travel through.
