Watching the 11 o'clock news a few days ago, I caught a clip of the actual news conference of Cindy Sheehan announcing her candidacy for Speaker Nancy Pelosi's House seat. Did anyone hear her say that she was dedicating her candidacy to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan? I don't remember the words verbatim, and I couldn't find the video anywhere on the web. For full disclosure, I consider myself a moderate Republican, who isn't against either war in Iraq or Afghanistan, but disappointed with the way Bush has fought it. I'm independent enough to consider voting for Democrats, but vote Republican 80% of the time. But, a statement like Ms Sheehan's is very scary to me. Is this where the Democratic party is heading?

The thing about Ciny Sheehan is that she is devastated by her son's death and is not always the most objective person where matters of the war are concerned.
I certainly feel her pain. As a mother myself I would feel equally bad and do everything in my power to right the situation which is what she is trying to do.
Who wants to feel that their childs death was the result of greed and avarice? That's the way she feels whether we agree with or not. But just watching her you can see that the only thing keeping her upright is her anger over this war.
Here's a woman who never even had so much as a traffic ticket before her son's death and how many times has she been arrested?
I think she deserves our prayers not our ridicule. I hope she finds peace in her life and I hope our country does too.

I agree. If it extremely is not any further finished honest i flow to leave the occasion in all likelihood for good. it extremely is not any further ideal if my decision is top or the countless guy or woman. it extremely is on the priority of the yankee human beings's voices being heard. I sent am digital mail to the DNC telling them how i think of. I advise others do the comparable. do now no longer in right this moment forward words sit down in this board and whinge, take action. edited: If McCain wasn't for the conflict, i could have no hardship balloting for him. This conflict is hurting u . s . of united statesa. way better effective than something the two between the democrats can do. additionally it take a majority congress to bypass any rules besides. The president only has veto skill which will amazing be overruled by way of skill of a 2/3 majority. with any success the Senators would be taught the fees previous to balloting on them.

Cindy Sheehan is as much a representative of the Democrat party as GW Bush is of the Republican party.
One person does not a party make!

If our president Bush had a mother like Cindy Sheehan he would had shown up for military duty , been in Vietnam. His mom would also had advised him not to shoot LSD while protesting the Vietnam war
If all Americans had a mom like Cindy there would be no Bush or Paris Hilton!!!
It should be a crime, punishment by hanging, for a White idiot to post as a black person.

Joe Biden is truly the only Democrat running for President. All the other ones are all to the Dark side or liberal. Reid and Pelosi is the way of their future.

Well. Mrs Sheehan also said she was quiting. I do believe this recent stunt makes her a flip-flopper. Therefore, it's nothing different or new for the Democratic party.

Since when has support of our enemies become a "new" direction for the Democratic party?

No.
The Democrat Party used her, and then abused her.
Democrats do that to everyone.
"IF" Sheehan becomes a threat to the Democrats------- (she won't for long..... Democrats know how to handle people like that. It's not pretty. Remember JFK and Vince Foster???)
