No, no, and no.
Iraq's govt is the most unstable it's been in three years -- deaths are still at (if not an all-time high), withing the top 10% over the past three years -- and Iraq shows no signs of being able to control its own govt, let alone establish an effective control over the entire country.
Patraeus is saying that achieving stability will take at least another 10 years -- and at the same time saying we cannot even sustain the Surge troops levels for another six months.
The Iraqi PM says US troops can leave any time, and has specifically requested that Patreaus leave ASAP.
And the Iraqi govt failed to achieve any of its milestones, and only made even any progress on less than half.
So, nothing there meets any definition I've ever seen of "working" -- insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.

No, evidently speaking his strategy isn't working in Iraq. Actually, no strategy will work in Iraq or any other country. Because the idea is to spread peace and not hatred and evil throughout other people's homelands. We need to have patience and hope the best that presidents of our country will stop making decisions that will hurt us and others. I would not side with Bush, as I feel what he is doing is politically, socially, morally, and religiously incorrect. At the same time, I hope everyone has an equal opportunity to live in peace and get blessings and have a great life with nothing to worry about and love for one another.

Is it working? We'll know more once Patraeus makes his report in September. Will I stay the course with Bush? Not one minute longer than I have to--I prefer the course outlined by the Iraq Study Group. Do I support the Iraq War? No, and never have.

The end does not justify the means. If someone went back in time and shot baby Hitler or baby Saddam, that someone would still be guilty of murder in the first degree. The Iraq war is based on a lie, and a lie told by a president is nothing short of treason. Read what the Constitution says about treason.

Yes I do think the surge is working because I see the differences.
I have stayed the course with our President and have been in the Middle East (Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan) for the past 4 years.
I do support the war in Iraq and my fellow service members.
I do not think that you can support the troops and not the war.

Surge working-No, since the iraqi gov is no more stable than before.
Stay the course-And what, keep getting american lives killed for no reason. It is not protecting us We need to get in the real fight against terrorism, and get out of iraq, so we can stop spreading terrorism and strengthening terrorists resolve. And get al qaida to it's knees, not like its pre 9/11 strength, like it is now.
Support-No. Iraq was never a threat to the U.S. It had never threatened to attack us. It was never a problem. We made it one. It was never a breeding ground for terrorists, we made it one.

I do not support this war intellectually, but I would have to admit that the surge is woirking to pacify our enemies to an extent. But the cost politically here at home of keeping men there for 2 years at a time and multiple cycles will eventually cause the America people to want an earlier withdrawal...it is a gamble...and the cusp is at hand. The problem as I see it is that they are willing to gamble in the first place

I never supported this war. I still don't. I have no faith in Bush's surge either. Nor did I ever have faith in Bush for that matter.
So far he has easily lived up to my low expectations.
