Do you think it is the parent's fault? They left their children alone in the hotel room while they were dining downstairs.

Heck YES. Parents are always responsible for thier kids. The price of having kids. And yes parents need breaks but you set sensible safety precaustions and I do not believe leaving younger children in a hotel away from home alone while you eat downstairs is being responsible,

I will give them at least half the blame. You can't leave your kids alone like that when traveling. Away from home, abroad. You just don't do that.

Yes I do. We just got back from Michigan and every hotel we stayed at I was with our kids every where they went.
