How can I learn to love myself?

2007-08-11 12:02:17 · update #1

My grandfather once said that I'd never get married . . . so did Mom and Dad . . . so far they're right . . . unless my luck takes a serious 180 soon.

Being lovable and being loved doesn't have anything to do with luck. Don't listen if your grandmother or mom and dad say you will never get married etc.... First of all they can't possibly know that. But sometimes family members say these things to scare you in order to mould you or change your behavour. Just be comfortable in your own skin and try to accept who you are. That is the first step to loving yourself.

Everyone is lovable. The harder a person is to love, the more they need it. Everyone is worthy of being loved, just for being themselves. If you haven't found the right person yet, don't give up. Love yourself and the rest will fall into place.

I know that I am worthy of love because I am good person, and like everyone else I deserve to love and be loved.

Are others happy to see you? Do you get many smiles? It's important to like yourself, spend time getting to know yourself. What are your strengths & weaknesses? And, remember, you usually get back a like reaction to what you give out. Oh, about me? I'm very well liked everywhere I go, I walk in the door & get smiles (not fake ones, either).

You ARE worthy of being loved.
Allow yourself to love YOU first. Then you can truly love others.
Accept the love they give you.

well,my sisters always tell me that I'm very affectionate,i guess because my mother wasn't the type to hug and kiss us all the time and that's what i do to let people know that i care, and i know I'm being loved when my husband or my children return that same kind of affection that i give to them

I guess I'm likable but not lovable. So I'm not worthy of being loved.

A good start is to change the things you don't like about yourself then you will be happier with who you are.
