None of those methods worked for me. I went quite a bit over too, but finally went into labor on my own. I went into labor on a Friday and the Dr. had planned to induce me the following Monday if I hadn't gone into labor on my own by that point. I know it can be uncomfortable, just try to be patient and enjoy the kicks and flutters because you will miss them a little once your baby is born. Good luck.

If you're a first-time mom, 41 weeks is the natural average. In any case, everyone is genetical programmed to have different gestational times, and there are other factors that enter into it as well. It may be that your baby isn't ready to be born, and babies that are fully cooked are healthier and easier to care for. If you're very sure of your dates (not by ultrasound, which is notoriously inaccurate, but by knowing date of conception) and have gone past 42 weeks, you might want to consider monitoring. Otherwise, induction (even "natural" methods such as castor oil and herbs) pose risks to both you and the baby that outweigh any statistical risks of waiting.
If your body is ready, sex can help, and especially orgasm. The hormone oxytocin is the key here -- you want to produce as much as possible. That means doing things that make you feel happy and secure. Stress interferes with its production.

They're pretty much all old wives' tales. I'm 'overdue,' too, and there really isn't anything I'd bother trying. No point in trying to boot out somebody who might not be totally ready, from a body that might not be totally ready, with stuff that's just not fun to do in the first place.
As for the 'have sex' bit --
"Women with a low risk of complications who had sex in the final weeks of pregnancy actually carried their babies slightly longer than those who abstained from sex during that time, according to a new study reported in the June issue of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
And the full-term babies born to women who had late-pregnancy sex were just as healthy as those born to women who did not.
"This study should reassure low-risk women that there is probably no harm in engaging in intercourse late in pregnancy," says obstetrician Jonathan Schaffir, MD, of the Ohio State University Medical Center. "But it showed no particular benefit, either, in terms of inducing labor.""

Try drinking some green tea or taking a dose of Castor oil i had a friend and my sister both take Castor oil and they went into labor the next day but I've also seen people do it and it hasn't worked it just depends (if you do decide to try it have some cut oranges in front of you to suck on cause the taste of the Castor oil is unpleasant).
Good luck and congratulations.

Talk to your doctor. Other than what you have been doing, nothing else is really safe for your baby. Whatever you do, DO NOT use castor oil. This can be dangerousto your baby!

having sex helps you dialate (the mans ejaculate has a hormone in it to dialate your cervix) so i would say between the sex and the walking you should be dialating HOPEFULLY :)
