No it doesn't, actually. There are certain circumstances in which divorce is OK. Adultery is definitely considered a sin and I have never seen a Christian deny such. The issue is we don't see a lot of adulterers looking to justify their behavior through the government.

I'd have to go with divorce in terms of magnitude. Yeah sure loads of people make homosexuality seem like such a big deal, but think about it; someone's sexual orientation can't NEARLY have the impact on a family as a divorce can.

Many believe that both are wrong -- and work equally hard to stop both.
But trying to outlaw divorce is a lost battle -- there is no way people are going to push through laws prohibiting anyone (especially people from other religions) from getting divorces.
So, some of it is a matter of fighting the fights they think they can win -- the areas where they think they can impose their personal religious views on everyone (even people from other religions) as a matter of law.

Because whereas homosexuality harms no one, divorce breaks up families and hurts children. Being gay isn't a choice, having a divorce is a chosen action. I guess it's more of that backwards thinking from the "family values" folks.
Things that don't hurt others are bad, but things that do aren't of much concern apparently. We've had constitutional amendments to ban gay marriage brought up to a vote, yet no one is pushing for an amendment to limit divorce, the true threat to marriage.
Note: I am a Christian who doesn't believe homosexuality is wrong.

I can't answer for all Christians, but I, for one, believe that all sin is of equal value. It doesn't matter if it's stealing a 25 cent pack of gum or murdering a family of four. Sin is sin and God tells us that, although we are born into sin, we should try to walk the path of rightiousness and be like Him. I believe that if a man who has committed murder honestly and truly repents and spends his life trying to make amends before God he will get in to heaven. I also believe that if a man steals a pack of gum and never repents or makes up for his transgression that this can send him to hell.
I do not protest against homosexuality. I believe that what people do behind closed doors is their business. However, i do not support gay marriage. This is because, to me, marriage is not a civil function; it's a religious function. The bible does teach us that homosexuality is a sin and therefore I can not support standing before God in direct defiance trying to take an oath before Him.
However, we all sin. Every last one of us. We are born with original sin and we are taught that we are not to judge others. Therefore I can not say that I am against homosexuality. Their sin is just that; theirs. Just like my sins are mine. For that reason I do support civil unions. We are the land of the free where everyone is born with certain unalienable rights. If two men or two women, or a man and a woman who are not religious, want to spend the rest of their lives together they should receive the same rights as a married couple does. It goes against our constitution not to grant them these civic rights.
Does that make sense?

Here's the thing about most christians. They look at your sins, not theirs. I was raised catholic went to catholic school for nine years, in all that time I never saw a top ten list of sin but I saw many sinners. People have absolutely no right to judge anyone else, especially christians who should know better. Only god has the ability to judge us, the rest just get their rocks off by judging.

i don't know where josh got his info...
“So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate” (Matthew 19:6)
in deuteronomy, there is talk about divorce rights--not as a way for people to justify divorce, but because people are sinful.
Matthew 19.7-30
7They said to him, ‘Why then did Moses command us to give a certificate of dismissal and to divorce her?’ 8He said to them, ‘It was because you were so hard-hearted that Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but at the beginning it was not so. 9And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another commits adultery.’*
10 His disciples said to him, ‘If such is the case of a man with his wife, it is better not to marry.’ 11But he said to them, ‘Not everyone can accept this teaching, but only those to whom it is given. 12For there are eunuchs who have been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others, and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. Let anyone accept this who can.’
as a non-christian, i can't tell you which is worse, only that they're both sins.
