I have this friend [he's nearly as old as my dad] and he's always used to my jokes and witisisms, and I'm used to his. But today, he got pissed when I told him jokingly that he looks like Matthew Cuthbert from Anne of Green Gables. Well, he really does look like the old man--with white receding hair, white mustache, and whatnot.

Anne won his heart. He loved her like she was his own daughter. She got him to talking. He was the silent type and his sister Merilda typically controlled the conversations. Anne gave Matthew a sense of family and of pride in her accomplishments. I'm sure there's more.

lol... He was a cute little old guy.
I think because people don't like to be told that they look really old... and that guy really did look old, he was the oldest one in the whole movie. I think he was probably also offended by associating him not only an old guy, but an old fashioned farming old guy. Thats was probably more of an insult than looking just old... looking like someone who i snot modern at all... He probably does not want a nickname like that to stick either.

know how you feel sweetie my friends is only45 & look like a man of 70 with all the white hair & heavy build & dont take care of himself he look so old for hi's age my guess honey he happy with hi's looks & maybe only knowing youronly joking with him but this can hurt's feeling alot wont called my friend a old man why becauseknowing it will hurt hi's feelings ok if is there like you are in your shoes dont do this anymore it can ruin a friendships or his' feelings ok understand how he feels ? ok tell him you care forhim maybe this would help out alot ok dont hurt hi's feeling anymore ok hugs Ginger(ps) been there & wont do this to my friend know it would hurt 's hi's feelings alot!!!!!!!

maybe cause thats a dumb book and we are all 13 and up! and he is not used to haveing you do things like that? tell him that you are sorry but you were only joking!! then he might lighten up. ask why he is upset and if he realy is your friend hell understand.
