The default gateway is the IP of the router configured to handle requests -- you set it.

hi
the ip address is 192.168.1.177
and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0
its a C class ip address.
its range comes out to be 256.. so the your network address is 192.168.1.0
your subnet starts from 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.254...
and remember the default gateway is always the first available ip address in the subnet... so
it should be
192.168.1.1
bye

you can find out what you default gateway is by going to the command prompt and typing "ipconfig" and hit ENTER. In your case, the default gateway is most likely your IP address but with a "1" at the end, so for you, it is MOST LIKELY to be "192.168.1.1"

The gateway address is set by your router or sever, and depends on the settings of the router. You need to use the ipconfig check to see the gateway address.
