all of the urine tests have been negative, so dr wants a blood test since i'm on cycle day 83...lol.

anyway, monday i will be heading for a blood test, and i'm not sure what to expect. it will be done at a lab place and then the results will be sent back to the obgyn.

should i be nervous? there's a reason why i'm not in the medical field because i pass out at blood. hubby is coming with me just in case i can't drive home.

what should i expect?

I am the same way. I even have seizers(sp?) sometimes when I need blood work done because I get so worked up. So the main thing is to stay calm and as relaxed as possible. Also don't look at any of it and DO NOT hold your breath. They will only take a tube or 2 of blood most likely, nothing too strenuos. Good luck.

Just try to relax and don't watch them stick you or draw the blood. Let the lab technician know that you are squeamish about stuff like this, most will do their best to be gentle and quick and not freak you out. They will just stick you in your arm and draw one or two of those tiny vials of blood. Some lab technicians are so good that they can have it done before you even know you were stuck. Just sit still and do what they tell you and it should be over quickly. Good luck.

They'll sit you in a chair and put a big rubber band around the top of your arm. Then they'll take some blood from your arm. It's a quick pinch, and then you're all done. If you don't like the sight of blood, don't watch. You'll be able to drive home, they only take a small amount.

It's just a little stick. Don't look, and you'll be fine. It hardly hurts at all.
