Suicidal Tendencies by far. Mike Muir was a poetic genius. Listen to or better yet read his lyrics, nobody understood teenage angst better than him. Instead of killing your self he let you know you weren't alone and that you were better to fight. Later on when they actually were able to play instruments they put together some nice compilations. Look how their former bassist blew away the competition for Metalica.

Tank
They are a great British metal band that hasn't gotten the credit they so rightly deserve!! I highly recommend "Filth Hounds of Hades", "This Mears War", "Honour & Blood" & "Still at War"!! They are going to have another album soon....check out the website below!!

Maudlin of The Well, most people have never even heard of them.
Also Celtic Frost and it's earlier incarnation- Hellhammer. These 2 bands heavily influenced black metal but most most people do not even know it.

I believe it's Sevendust. They have been way too good for way too long to get so little mention. Being on TVT records was the kiss of death, look what it did for Gravity Kills.
