when are presidential nominating conventions?

are they at a specific time every 4 years? are they even set for next year yet?

sorry i havent been paying attention to elections until now, like most of american im sure

In 2008. The Republican convention starts September 1st in St. Paul, Minnesota. The Democratic convention is August 25th in Denver, Colorado.

The nominating conventions will be in the summer of 2008.
