I had the same problem with Julius Cesar play. On sparknotes.com they have the original version and a modern version. It made me understand what shakespear meant.

Try watching the movie "Romeo + Juliet" from the 90's, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes. It uses the original language, but in a modern setting, and once you see it the play should make more sense to you.
Also, try to find an annotated version of the play, which has explanations of unfamiliar language, and plot summaries so you understand what is going on.

There are books available with contemporary language on one page and the original across from it. It's very useful! I believe it's called the Side by Side series. For sale here:

It's not that it's difficult, it's just that it's written differently. If you're not used to reading that type of writing you have to take the time to read it slowly and process what you're reading; try reading it out loud. For example, something like , "how beautiful thou art", is just another way of saying ,"you're beautiful". Keep in mind that the more you expose yourself to this type of writing the more you'll understand it.

oh please take the time to read it as it was meant, it will come to you after a bit and you will learn to really appreciate they beauty of his writings.
his comedies are so funny and his dramas are so tragic, you will lose some much.
maybe if you rented some of the movies you will be able to catch on and then try reading the books.
it is really worth the effort.
