29, 133 words which turned out to be around 60 pages. But I was writing for the entire night. I personally believe that you shouldn't try to pace yourself or follow what everyone else is considering an average pace due to an author's worst enemy: Writer's Block. Write what you can at whatever speed you find yourself inspired to write at. Go back and edit later, but get what you can out before you lose your inspiration. Believe me when I tell you that once it's gone, it could be another year or two before you get inspired to continue writing. Good luck!

I have written probably 20 to 30 pages in a sitting once, but that's about as average as Einstein's IQ, so... yeah I usually average about 5 to 10 pages in a day when I do write. When I don't have a crapload of stuff to do (ie. work or school), I usually crank out 5 to 15 pages per day everyday for a the length of my break. My professor said that he'd write 10 pages one day and then go back and revise it the next day, so about 5 pages a day. The average pace is really hard to say, because so many authors write about different things and in different ways. I'd say if you're going about 5 to 10 pages a day you're probably pretty good. It takes a while for sure.

I average 2500 to 3500 words a day. I think the highest I have ever gone is 5 thousand. That is almost unheard of. Most authors average a couple hundred. It isn't about how much you can write in a day, it's about the quality of your work. My editor and partner finds that there is very little to fix when I write that much, so I consider it comfortable for me. The average author takes a year to 18 months to do a first draft of a book. Don't rush it and don't worry about how fast or slow you are compared to other authors. I have a reason I can write that much in a day -- it comes naturally to me. Just do what is natural to you. If you don't start writing more and stop asking so many questions -you ain't never gonna get your book written.
