Just commenting on my amusement with right wing Christian fundamentalists (or a great many of them). They viciously attack anything to do with Islam (or any other religion for that matter), and denounce them as naturally violent and evil... As they encourage more of a church role within the state, creating an America with fewer freedoms, and eagerly encouraging some sort of a ridiculous religious "crusade" against those who disagree with them (namely those of Islam or other religions).

Does anyone not see the hypocrisy and utter stupidity of this? I shall dare call them the "American Taliban".

lol, you're saying I'm bigoted and "hate" Christians, when I'm only pointing the out the obvious contradictions and hypocrisy of the EXTREME RELIGIOUS RIGHT. How does that sound like hatred of the average Christian to you? Do I have to be pro-Christian or Christian myself in order to appease the Christian mass into believing I am tolerant?

You guys like to twist this around don't you?

Somehow me pointing out obvious contradictions and rather ridiculous hypocrisies by some members of the Christian right made me into a "Islam loving, intolerant Communist".

lol this would be so funny if it weren't for the fact that some powerful people in Washington would actually agree with you. Perhaps this signifies how low society can really become?

I'm an atheist, not a Muslim. I do believe in freedom of speech. Because of my faith (or lackthereof), I like watching how the religious right seems to attack fundamentalist Islam.. without even realizing by doing so they themselves are getting to the exact same low.

It's mainly because a) we have freedom of speech, not just of intelligent speech; b) we do have freedom of religion; and c) the people who shout the loudest get heard.

90% of the Christians I know are tolerant, kind people who model the best of behaviors. But since they don't go around shouting "Look at me, I'm CHRISTIAN!" we don't always count those. The 10% who are, as you say, vicious about Islam and paganism and even Catholics sometimes, and who denounce others, get the majority of the press. Because of that, they give a bad name to the rest of the Christians.

In my opinion, it is because it is all they have to hold on to in life. Any form of radical religious beliefs comes from a believer that has nothing else more important than his radical thinking and faith. This is a dangerous and controversial topic. Every religion has its form of radicalism, but it seems that radical Islam is the only form discussed.

As the late great Jim Morrison so eloquently said, you cannot petition the Lord with prayer. Religion is man's way of having god on their side while they hate one another. Christians claim god is on their side, Muslims claim Allah is on their side and they both pray to god to help them kill their enemies. I thought god was in the love business not the death business???

You're right. Everyone's God should be like Hillary's God.

HE did a great job of holding together her marriage despite years of sexual manipulation and emotional abuse forced upon the poor souls of herself, her family and the entire country by her dear husband who has never publicly repented.

Perhaps, if I followed Hillary's God, I could be strong enough to subject myself to all the demands of a man, too.

Im catholic but i don't attack other people's beliefs because this is America and you can choose how to live. I laugh at those who viciously attack other religions because they are different.

Perhaps you should practice tolerance for other people's beliefs.
