What you have is spyware, not a virus. As good as AVG is, it is antivirus, not antispyware. I'm surprised that Spysweeper can't find it, though. What I suggest is that you Get SpyBot Search & Destroy to safely remove spyware. Best of all, it’s free. After installing it, immunize the computer against over 30,000 known pieces of spyware. Then run a full bot check and remove everything it finds using the Fix Selected Problems tab. Keep it updated and run it weekly to keep your computer free of this stuff. Then get Ad-Aware also from download.com and run it the first time doing a Full System Scan. Thereafter, run a Smart Scan daily.

Keep them both updated and use them.

Not sure what you mean can't get rid of it. Does it quarantine it? If so, its dead. It won't do any harm in quarantine. Or do you mean after its quarantined it finds it again on the next scan?

Scan with Panda - it can be done online. http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/solutions/activescan/ You can "try" it for 30 days.

Remember, different antivirus companies have different names for the same virus. So Panda might call it something else.

Norton security 2007 download the free trial (15days) update it and let it run. It will run slow untill it is updated, runs full system scan and restarts. Be patient and let it do its job. It will speed up after that and you can use it for 15 days. Remove if you want when finished. You will be virus, spyware, addware free.
