I am getting ready to take my 11 month old daughter off of the baby food. She is eating pancakes and waffles for breakfast. However, i am stuck on what to feed her for lunch and dinner. What kinds of foods would you suggest I feed her. She has her two bottom teeth and she is getting one of her tops ones now. She can just about gum anything. I want to feed her health foods but just am stuck on what. She doesnt like the 3rd foods, with meats and vegs. So those arent an option. So any kinds of foods other moms feed their children would be great help. Thanks

My kids didn't like the stage 3 food either. However, they did like the following:

From a can:
green beans
carrot coins
green english peas
asparagus

mashed potatoes
alphabet noodles (cooked in chicken broth for extra flavor)
pieces of toast with jelly

any fruit cut into pieces (especially the cups of fruit already cut)

ground beef (maybe with some spaghetti sauce)
ground turkey
baked chicken pieces

Sounds like she's doing well gumming anything. Just adjust what you're feeding you and your husband to something she can eat. My 21 month old still just likes to have a variety of bite size things on his plate that he can choose from. Today for lunch he had the following:

cheese
pretzels
strawberries
bananas
hot dog

It's not really a full course meal, but he enjoyed it! Oh, with the hot dog, at your daughter's age, you'll need to skin it and cut it into fourths at least (if you give one to her at all - hot dogs are one of the biggest choking hazards, but kids sure do love 'em!)

Have fun with meal time!

My kids never ate jarred baby food after stage 1. And I can't blame them. That stuff is gross. I made my own food when my kids were about this age. I put whatever we were having for dinner in the food processor, and ground it up, just slightly. Like when we had roast beef, I just put a chuck in the blender, added some gravy, did a couple pulses of the blender, then gave it to her on her tray. It was yummy, and it wasn't dry or too hard for her to chew. I think besides peanut butter and honey, anything was fair game at this age. I mushed up everything and put it on the tray.

What do you eat for lunch or dinner? She can have almost anything you eat, just cut REALLY small. (Just stay away from honey or nuts for another few months, and I would also avoid grapes and hotdogs for the choking hazard.)

The 3rd stage foods are kinda gross, so I don't blame her for not liking them!

Chicken nuggets and mac and cheese will probably be a hit with her. This is around the age when they start getting really finicky about what they eat. Check with her pediatrician to be sure of how you can maintain her nutritional requirements.

when my girl was about that age....

i made her...

Eggs
sausage
potatoes with gravy to make it mushy
mixed veggies (peas and carrots)...shell find it amusing
pizza crust for her to gum up.
Applesauce
yogurt
soup (mushroom, tomoto, vegetable)
i also gave her a strip of steak, med-rare so she could chew and chew without taking off a peice

Just try give her whatever you eat...thats they only way ur going to know what she likes and what she can handle

My daughter loved pasta! She also loved the mini ravlioli. Also she ate peas very well. She loved grillled cheese sandwiches. Chicken noodle soup is a good one!
