I realize that it is hard to believe that we just die and that's it, but the reality is, the feelings and emotions that we assign to a "soul" are all located in a humans brain, your emotions, your memories, and your entire personality. Many people believe in a heaven and or a hell and I'm not going to rag on anybody for their beliefs, but to believe in the traditional idea of hell, you would have to believe that the "soul" is sensitive to heat, and I just don't believe that. I honestly believe that when the brain dies, we die. That is not the answer most people want to hear, but I believe it to be the most honest answer.

It decays.
The soul, which many people think of, does not exist. Try reading Genesis and Ecclesiastes and you'll see there that there is no such element that separates from a man's body once he dies. Instead, the soul is our physical body - that which we can touch and we can see. Have you ever read of the accounts of deaths in the Bible - Lazarus's, Christ's, etc. ? Was there ever something reported about a certain "soul" which has left their bodies and travelled somewhere or whatever after they died? NONE. Ghosts do not exist. The devil (and co-demons) just wants to trick everyone and has been impersonating other people in such a way that we would be lost from the truth. If there is a soul that continues to live after we die, then what is to be resurrected? When a man dies, HE DIES as a whole. There is no life in death. Later during Judgment Day, then there would be those who may be resurrected from death.
The Bible holds so many truths. Study it.

As an agnostic, I do not believe in the concept of a "soul" as a physical thing. I think people have ethics, a "good heart", and compassion for others but I don't think it is embodied in any sort of spirit.

A soul as such can not be passed on from one human being to another or to a cat or a flower. We are what we are and when we are gone, we are no more. We only live in in the good that we have done while we are on earth and the memories the living have of us. Those too will fade.

A religious person will not like my answer but it is my belief. And just as I respect others who have dissimilar beliefs, I hope to be respected for mine.

Almost like a bullet fired from a gun.
Depends upon the range, model of the gun, and the direction of aim when the trigger was pressed, the aim of the barrel etc.
During the life time, there are choices available, to work towards a release. That is why a 'human' birth is considered very precious, and should not be wasted in animal like routine, eating , sleeping, procreating(even if in an ultra modern, hi-tech way).

If you put it into perspective, then it rests with the physical body.
A soul can't just float around looking for a body to jump into.Otherwise each person would potentially have a second hand soul.
Look at it realistically, a new born develops their own soul, it is something that cannot be seen, as opposed to a transplanted physical part, eg. heart lung, liver etc. Maybe a soul is a brain.

Hi Abby, I believe our Souls go to a place like in between
Heaven and Hell and we stay there until it's decided which way you will go UP or Down. I'm not afraid of Death but I am not ready to go!!! I have 2 much to do and see in my life after all has been completely I will be ready to go. I know we can't decide when our time is up but it's a nice thought. At least I know my mom, both sets of Grandparents,Uncle,Aunts, cousins, Friends and all the animals I have had through out my life are waiting for me in Heaven.
A Friend.

there is quite no element in being petrified of a few thing which you will no longer forestall. All it does is spoils what existence you have and makes you experience a million/2 lifeless besides. no you are able to quite quite convince yet another of what they suspect happens after dying as we've this want to work out to have faith, some thing we can do whilst our time arrives. So if i attempt and convince you that existence maintains in some way afterwards you wont quite be a hundred% confident. like each and every of the others who say faith is adequate, they, in the event that they are elementary, nevertheless have a doubt interior the back of their minds, all be it an iota, and sweetness. i easily have faith there's a purpose to this existence and a street we ought to shuttle to realize our very final trip spot. it quite is a street we can shuttle as quickly as or many cases counting on how briskly we each and every, as persons , progression. some would desire to call it stupidity and a few would desire to call it otherwise. I call it my convenience and if i´m incorrect so what! I´m no longer forcing it on all and numerous and my concept seems extra logical in my eyes. My suggestion could be to provide up hectic approximately whether or no longer you're able to have unsleeping techniques after dying and communicate taking section in this one. If it facilitates attempt and seem for an answer in diverse faiths be it orthodox or between the hot age. the element being you will by no capacity quite understand till the time comes and the only factor you're able to do is different than that and get on with your existence. have faith me you would be a lot happier for it.

as life deliberatly proceeds, the cycle of life becomes.
hobbes pointed out that physical matter is all there is and nothing else.....to some people "soul"is just a word.
yet a religious belief is what most people are after.for about 4000 years people were inept in predicting what really happens;Reincaration heaven,hell,allah,nothingness....
scientificly theres no soul or after life...no better place, no moving on.....yet religiousness refuse to beleive this.
your question my friend is and will always be unanswereable.

Some of my First Nations friends (American Indian) have told me that the soul doesn't go "up" into the Heavens...Your soul travels along the horizon where the sky and the ocean meet. So you go Sideways!!! I like it, how about you?

I believe that if I have something that I haven't finished, something that I must explain, my soul will remain on Earth for eternity until I fix my problem.

I also believe that I will meet god in heaven, and I will have an option to be welcome in heaven, or be born as a baby and start all over again in a new body.
