I know that it's something that farmers and ranchers must have to feed their livestock, but, I was just wondering. Thanks in advance.

Yes. It is considered a crop, because some farmers not only grow hay for their own cattle or horses, they grow for resale, as well. Yes it's a crop.

Yes indeed. Several grasses or plants are used as a source for hay: alfalfa, soy bean plants and timothy grass, et al. . So they certainly meet the qualifications of being a crop, and are not only used on the producing farm, but are also sold on the open market by the bale.

Everyone is wrong. It grows in bundles and is already wrapped in bailing wire. All they have to do is pick it up.
How can that be considered a crop?
