My exhusband lied on our marraige certificate stating that he was born in another country when in reality he was born in the usa and that I was his second wife which wasnt true also. Would this marraige certificate be considered void? I was married to a con artist all along and had no idea about his birth until later on in the marraige. Were we even considered married?

He is your ex husband for a reason. Does it really matter now. Or are you like a lot of people including myself who just wants to know the truth to feel closure?

Go and get a lawyer. If he is a con artist as you say make sure you secure all your check books, financial information, your computer needs to be locked, you need to check your credit history and you need to get a post office box to protect your mail immediately. If he has swindled you , that is theft by deception, and a judge can issue a warrant for his arrest.

Make sure you have valid and reliable evidence which is proveable in court of his perjury on the marriage certificate and of his thefts from you if any. Hopefully, the judge will fully blot the marriage from the records and force the man to pay you restitution and penalize him in other ways.

Do not tell him you are doing these things. Do not bother to ask him why. Just do what you have to do and get on with your real life.

Marriage is not a heterosexual right. Marriage is a more legally binding agreement between two lovers. A form of marriage exists in every religion and every culture and has existed beyond gender roles throughout history and in some cultures even was incorporated one person of either sex marrying more than one other person at a time, and marriages between infants and etc(mainly for royals) I think allowing homosexuals to marry is a positive not a negative and as long as marriage is allowed between two consenting people over 18 years of age a positive and moving step that enforces good values in society.

You should consult a lawyer and ask them those question. A friend of mine married a man who used a false name. It turned out he was wanted in another state for child support issues. It was determined the marriage was valid, but it may not be the same in your case.
