I have a 95 s10 blazer making grinding sound when first started. It also keeps making the grinding sound when driving after first start, but stops after less then a minute of doing it? Then when it seats for some time, and it does it over again. The trans seems strong to me, so i don't think its the problem. I was told maybe alternator or power steering going bad?

Thanks

before another cold start, take the belt(s) off and start it, if the noise is gone then you know the problem is somewhere within the belts, ie, alt, p.s. or ??? if its still there then its time to dig

Grinding sound? does it do it when not in motion? if so, then it's possible the bendix spring on the starter is hanging up, and causing the starter gear to stay partially engaged with the fly wheel.

I own one of the trucks. Have the ABS system checked to be sure you don't have a wheel speed sensor trying to activate the ABS for no reason. Brake pedal pulsate (vibrate) when this occurs?

No check your brakes that is a natural sound when the brakes are about gone , pull a wheel and check it out. hope this helps.
