I've been using a MAC since they came out in 1984. I've never had any problems with them. I was forced to use a PC at work until they switched the entire company to MACs, and that was a nightmare. It froze, crashed, couldn't find ?.dll file, MAC has a beautiful user friendly interface that anyone can easily learn to use. Switching from Windoze to Mac is like switching from an old chevy to a new BMW. It just works!! All these PC users are just in MAC ENVY. Its like insisting on flying a prop plane that they know how to fix with all kinds of different parts to flying a lear jet.

Believe me, the Mac is NOT a better computer. It's really RIGID in what it can do. Lemme give some examples of problems I face when people come to me with ones that won't work:
1. They CANNOT be upgraded, really. Their parts are MODEL-SPECIFIC.
2. If a part breaks, you better hope you can take out a mortgage. They have to be imported at HIGH prices.
3. Less and less USEFUL things are becoming compatible with them. I'm not saying they aren't compatible with ANYTHING, but most new software is PC-based.
4. Virus protection? WHAT virus protection? They get viruses, just like any other computer. True, they don't get as MANY, but neither does a computer with a good Antivirus software (by the way, good luck finding an antivirus software for a Mac.)
If you're looking for something you're gonna use until something breaks, go ahead. The interface can be called "user friendly" but I disagree. Eh, it's just my opinion really, but if you want flexibility stick with your PC.

I've been taking care of Macs for my company for six years, and have never seen a virus in one yet. You can add Windows to the Mac in addition to OSX, so it will still run all your old stuff.
And, anybody who takes a year to learn OSX has a serious problem. It's a much better OS than Windows.

The change from WIndows to Mac is similar to changing from a Ferrari to a tricycle.
