Hi miles+parts supply problems+reputation as fire hazard on wheels+2K asking price=bad deal.

23 year old cars that have little or no collector value are just old cars. this one fits that description. no more than $500-750 at most, if the car's sound mechanically.

If the post-fire restoration was done correctly, this might be an ok car. However $2000 is a lot of money for a fiero with the stats you described.

i owned a 1985 fiero gt with the 2.8 v-6 4 speed trans and it was not junk by any means. with a couple of tweeks the car
was a bullet. if the 84 is one of the 1st 100 built and still
drives good then buy it. i paid 2000.00 for my gt and wished i had kept it. too many "chats " with the law enforcement folks
kinda ended that.one of the things you could do to motivate the 84 was swap out the tech 4 with the way powerful olds
quad 4 I-4. just think you don't have to spend thousands
of dollars to lower the fiero cause it is already lower than
those guys that lower their hondas and other assorted
japanese cars. one guy i know spent 5grand to lower his civic
and my bone stock gt was still way lower than his car.
we took it to the shop he had his work done and the shop told him there was no-way they could get that low.
good luck with your decision

NO!!! You will never be able to find parts for it, unless you can find them in a junkyard. A friend of mine had one and it cost him nearly $500 just to replace the brakes because he couldn't find any and had to have them made. Also there is a reason they stopped making them, they are dangerous and have had problems with the engines overheating. Plus even though it is a 4 cylinder it is considered a sports car and the insurance is high. Use your money to buy something else

keep the car!!!! if all the stickers are on the inside of the door pilar, and it runs as good as you say, it is worth A LOT more than $2000. i have an 84 and it is confirmed one of the first 100 ever bulit, and it is worth $9000. keep the fieros going

NO! if you got 2K and want a nice small sports car that can handle go with a '90-'97 Mazda MX-5. Great little roadsters, and theres a lot you can do as far as mods go. Such as dropping in a S2000 motor and 6spd tranny if you wanted to =) its like puttin the honda on a 900lb diet.

I would suggest that you look at getting a fiero that has less mileage though the 2.5L is a sturdy engine 280,000 miles is a bit much. You could find newer ones with less mileage for cheaper, just look!

be prepared to spend more than 2000 dollars on this car if it already has 280000 miles on a 2.8l / gm's worst v6 ever i know it is hard to find parts for those things also, good luck i would offer them 1000 tops and see what they say

Price is to high. If you got the resources to fix it go ahead. I`ve seen the northstar v8 put in it and it was a badass little car. Just look at this way ,It`s going to cost more to fix it than the normal car but it`s all up to you .

They're a fun car to drive but I'd never own one.I replaced 26 engines ,when they were catching fire and were a major recall for Pontiac. All of those were 2.5s.The only way I'd own one would be if I had free insurance and someone else(with Fire-o)experience to work on it.
