I'd like to make pocket mirrors such as the ones on here:

myfavoritemirrors.com
lookingglassgirl.com

for myself and as gifts.

Anyone know where I can buy the supplies so that I can customize the design on the backs?

(the first link doesn't appear to work... why not give the entire URL just to make sure people can go there if possible?)

As for the backings, you could do an ordinary decoupage, or you could to a "decal" transfer using one of the decal papers or t-shirt transfer papers that make decals.

You could also cover them with some kind of clay. If you need something sturdy, polymer clay is a good choice and it can be made into almost any pattern or image or color(s) you want. For thin clay applications like this, you should probably avoid the Sculpey clays since they're weaker after baking when thin... instead go for Premo, FimoClassic, Kato or Cernit, or to FimoSoft which is a medium strength polymer clay.

If you're interested, you can check out at least this place at my site where mirrors in particular are discussed:
