why do I look like an idiot? you can't shatter it by merely screaming at it.

It is believed that through resonance you can shatter a glass. if the pitch of your scream matches the natural frequency of the glass then you would scatter it. Now, the natural frequencies of glasses normally mean a very high pitch, hard to reach with a scream. An opera singer with a very sharp pitch could do it. However, in the real world this does not happen, unless the glass has a crack on it.

How about shattering the opinion of someone living in a glass house by screaming at her...I've done that ;)

If you want to shatter a glass, you need to scream at the glass's resonant frequency. The frequency the glass produces when you hit it is the resonant frequency.

If you get close enough and loud enough at an object's resonant frequency, you can destroy literally any structure.

Screaming won't do it.

You have to hit the resonant frequency of the glass.

Loud and exactly on pitch. A scream contains multiple frequencies.

It is possible. Have I tried? No. I can't scream that high pitched.

it is definetly possible however there are other ways of doing it, just produce a strong enough frequency you can even do it w/o making noise.
