I'm reading a book called What I Know Now, Letters to my Younger Self and it had me thinking about what i might say to my younger self looking back. What would you tell your younger self?

You are a special person. Do not ever think that you are not, and don't ever let someone else let you think that you are not. Don't ever change yourself, you are unique, and there is no reason to change yourself to feel accepted. Stay true to yourself always, and find people who love you for who you are, they are out there- even if they are hard to find. Stay away from people who treat you wrongly, they are not true friends. Do not give up on yourself. You can do ANYTHING that you want to do, you can BE anything that you want to be. This life is yours to create. And do not be afraid to take chances. To not take chances, is to miss out on life. Respect your physical body, take care of it, and it will take care of you in your future. And remember, that the hard times will ALWAYS get better. Don't let them bring you down. Allow them to help you grow into a stronger person. Do not give up on life. You have the ability to change other's lives, to bring love to others, to make a difference in this world. You are special, you are beautiful, you are loved- and you matter in this world, just for being exactly who you are.

Those are the things I always needed to hear. (and still need to hear sometimes! ) :)

To my younger self, I would say that there are bigger problems out there than your own. We are but a spec in the universe, only here for a moment in time. The little problems we have everyday are insignificant. If I could realize that at a younger age, I would've passed my days as a much happier girl.

There's so many things...
I would tell myself to stay single until I'm older and not just waste my time on any guy that pays attention to me.
I would tell myself to finish high school even if that meant repeating a grade.
I would tell myself to never touch drugs, they aren't worth it.
I would tell myself to have more assertive arguments with my mother.
I would tell myself not to make the mistake that caused my father not to talk to me anymore.
I would tell myself to respect my friends more because they were pretty much all I had.
I would tell myself that I wasn't as fat as I thought I was.
I would tell myself not to give up on begging my mom to play violin, because I still want to learn.
I would appreciate my good health more instead of trying to kill myself with cigarettes.
"Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself."

There's probably a ton more things...there's not a day that goes by that I don't wish I could go back and change things...

the biggest thing would be more outgoing. i was painfully shy when i was younger and i regret that i didn't do more of the things i wanted to do because of it and all of the great friendships i missed out on because i was too afraid to say anything. adulthood has taught me that you can have opinions and still be liked.

Don't ever think that you're less than what you are; LISTEN to your inner voice when it's telling you that something is wrong; don't take a job just because it pays more; and finally, don't ever get a credit card.

Listen to your parents. They may not know everything, but they know a helluva lot more than you give them credit for, and they really are looking out for your best interests.

Slow down, enjoy the day you have before you, make memories to get you thru life. Don't ever date teenage boys.
