we've known eachother for 25 years..been in and out of eachothers lives, but now we're both single.

Say like Ive been thinking about us then he will get it by that but say ive liked you but did not want it to effect our friendship because you mean the world to me!

As good friends, you should be able to suggest a destination you both could enjoy. You should both agree on where you go ahead of time. Be casual and let nature takes it's course. Don't be too pushy, ask for his participation in deciding the next step. If need be, guide him into making a decision that you know will be mutual.
