This is a horrible thing to do--yet I see it all the time. There are too many fish in the sea to consider this behavior acceptable.

Don't tell me it's a great big attraction--again, there are too many people in this world...

Cheating with a co-worker is another horrible, and dumb, thing to do....

Animal instincts or not, go to another town--or at least the other side of town--stay away from friends of the family.

There are georgeous men, and women, all over--not just in one's back yard.

People do this because they are very greedy and selfish and don't care about who they are with.

They also think that the person they are with isn't going to leave them, and so they don't go through any kind of punishment.

I think that loyalty and trust are the #1 priority in a relationship because no relationship can be built without it. It would be like trying to build a house on quicksand, it will just sink.

A lot of people want what they can't have and being with someone that is married or "committed" is sort of like taking the apple from the forbidden tree. you know it's wrong, but it's just so tempting (and if it's with a friends spouse, or partner, that makes it all the more forbidden). I think it's also an ago boost for them to be able to lure someone away from another person, they have a low self esteem. It's unfortunate someone else has to suffer because of their selfish acts. I agree with you. I think people that chase married people or people in relationships are the scum of the earth. But they wouldn't do it if it wasn't reciprocated at some point. it may be their fault for chasing, but I believe most of the blame should go to your spouse, or partner. Even if it is your friend doing the chasing, ultimately, it is your significant other that is committed to you and is the one that should put a stop to it.

There are many reasons why someone will cheat on their significant other with their friend. One reason is that it would be a challenge. To somehow to score with the other person and still not get caught. Believe it or not, another reason is to make themselves look better in the eyes of their spouse. By this I mean, if my wife's friend is in a bad marriage or even single and unhappy, she will comment on how lucky she is to have a great man in her life. So if you are in good with the friend and she starts to brag that she is a lucky woman, she will in turn treat me better. This may sound foolish to some but it has happened. Not cheating with a wife's friend but having her friend involved in a bad relationship, it makes me look even better in my wife's eyes and she appreciates what she has at that moment.

we talked about this exact topic in a psychology class. Even though we are humans, we still have an animilistic behaviors. Men in particular have an instinctual need to "spread their seed" We are driven by these behaviors, and even though it is morally wrong, people still do it. I am in no way advoating cheating, but like i said, it's inherent in our nature. One of our main priorities is to spread our genes in order to ensure the survival of our species, and the best way to do that is to have sex with as many people as possible. (I know it sounds lude but look at other animals).

I think its a thrill thing. The anxiety of getting caught.
Another thing is that even though there are many others available but when you know someone a little better there is always the opportunity for attraction.

I think it's easier, because you all hang out as friends so people get closer that way...It happened to my friend...her husband had an affair with her best friend while she (his wife) was pregnant, it lasted for a year. It sucks but it happens...I think people should just run if they ever find out their spouse is cheating with their friend...that's the lowest of the low.

I wish I knew. I think it's pathetic and the one of the ultimate acts of selfishness. One of the many reasons I am so ambivilent about longterm relationships and marriages, because so many people just seem to find it acceptable to stray.

There are a lot of people in the world but you only meet so many, and get close to fewer. That's why so many pick coworkers, too.
