I've had "piggy's" for years, they make different sounds for different reasons, they to have something to say. Unless they are screaming bloody murder do not worry about this just talk to the little one.

What Guinea Pig Sounds Mean

My guinea pig did this, too! I didn't know what it meant, until I asked my guinea pig's veterinarian. He said that this is a rare sound that is made by SOME guinea pigs. This means that they are stressed and startled, or they're happy and pleased. Brownie, my guinea pig who was chirping, chirped like a bird for 30 seconds and it was amazing! Princess, my other guinea pig, suddenly froze and joined along, as they both had their heads held high. My veterinarian said that this could, also, happen for no reason at all. This may be the most luckiest thing you've experienced. Not all guinea pig owners will hear their guinea pigs chirping like a bird! Don't worry, though. This behavior is normal, but it's not common! No one is 100% what this may mean, though. Was your guinea pig chirping like this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDsAWx36lJc Because that's how my guinea pigs were chirping, and as I said before, it's totally uncommon and not many guinea pigs do this! From experience, I think this is a type of communication to other guinea pigs, as well, because when Brownie started chirping (it was around 1:00 A.M), my other guinea pig, Princess, froze and her head was up in the air! I was worried, but I guess there was nothing to be worried about! Haha, in fact, as my guinea pigs heard the chirping from the video, they start squeeling and froze! But, yes. I think this is, also, a type of communication to guinea pigs.

ive had my guinea pig for about 2 years and he started "chirping" after we've had him for a while! Don't be alarmed, she's just getting used to your home and is talking! Since she is adjusted she feels more cumfortable and is expressing he thoughts! We have not, but you might want to think about getting another one so she not so lonely. however i would not get another one of the same sex. Ecspecially if its a girl. Girl guinea pigs are very protective even without young! the two of them would probably hurt each other really badly.

Guinea pigs are vocal animals, mine used to squeal and oink when she was happy to see me. Try this: when you come in the room where she is, squeak back at her, see if she responds.

I've been around LOTS of guinea pigs, and they all chirped! That's just a normal guinea pig sound.
