Hello
Yes of course go for it!!!
One thing to remember tho is take your shape into consideration. I mean even if you are still slim dont be wearing anything that is too tight. If you have an ample bust try going for the bra part of the bikini with underwires or go for halter neck style--this makes big boobs look lovely!!!
Or if you are quite small breast wise wear a string top (you know the ones with the small triangles that just cover the boobs!!!) in a big bright pattern and plain pants that match the colours of the top!!!
When trying on the knicker part of your bikini put them on, stand shoulder width apart and squat, ie let your bottom drop so its just between you ankles and have a look in the mirror behind you. If the bkini comes down so you can see you bum crack or if they ride up into your bum crack--its not good---even if it means going a few sizes up or a different syle (such as shortie style) just make sure they cover; so you look classy.
I have put some on here for you which in general suit everyone and should look good whatever your shape. As you may notice they do some nice one piecses out there if you want to have a look.

Probably be more effective if took the bikini off on the beach. Working on the basis that If you've got it, you may as well flaunt it.

Sadly nothing lasts forever, and if you've still got a good figure in your early forties, you may as well benefit from some complimentary looks and remarks whilst you can.

The above answer is given on the basis that you are female of course. If you are not female, then I would have to question the wisdom of wearing a bikini in any location.

I bought my first bikini back in the late 50's and was still wearing them when I was 10 years older than you. Get out there and wear it while you can.
Still have a reasonable shape when nearly 70 but the covering ain't so good anymore! What I really need these days is a black bin liner or an iron!!

Go for it. Why not? It's your body and if you wish to both please yourself and others don't let anyone interfere!
You can go topless if you wish!

Having read the other responses there are a large minority (Of females mainly!) who agree only if your figure is perfect! What rubbish - as a flabby 64 year old man I will not be stopped (except by some law(which the fat legislators would never pass)) from "exhibiting (in my mind) acceptably large and flabby bits!
I do worry, however, about both sexes who try too hard to lose too much weight!
Within the law, leave us all alone. We are out to enjoy our holiday - not as exhibitionists - leave that to the very thin!

yep you should, I do and Im around same age. Just cos your in your 40's dosnt mean you havent still got a good figure. I work out and am a size 8 - I look better than most of the teenagers on the beach. - Well so my husband says - but he has to say that! ha ha

Sure you should honey! If you've got it, flaunt it! If you are secure in knowing you still look good in a bikini, then by all means wear one. On the beach, just about anything goes any more. It will look fine and no one will care, unless you do. It is certainly still in fashion.

If you're not totally comfortable in a bikini, why don't you try a tankini? You ever seen them? They're a 2 piece but the top is like a halter and comes to just above the bottom piece. Here's a TON of examples

Yes!!! Wear a bikini. This will show that you are confident with yourself. It doesn't matter how old you are. I'm 27 and have a 3 year old daughter. My stomach is not perfect anymore, but I still wear a bikini. Go for it.

I'm 42 and I wear bikini. I work very hard on my body by running 6 miles every day, so why should I hide it? I have started wearing more age appropriate suits though instead of cutsie ones. You go girl!

Why not? At that age your skin should still be in good condition (I hate seeing saggy wrinkled skin and saggy boobs in a bikini) and if you are fit then why not show it off! If you are slightly concerned why not wear a tankini with a slightly cropped top?

If I had the figure I wouldn't think twice :-)
