2(4x + 7) - 3(2x - 4)

Alright, what you're trying to do here is simplify the equation. You've got to use the distributive property, which is a(b + c) = ab + ac.

So you would multiply what's inside the parentheses by what is outside, and you'd have

8x +14 - 3(2x - 4)

And then do the otherside as well. Note the -3.

8x + 14 - 6x + 12

It's a positive twelve because (-3)(-4) becomes positive.

Then all you do is simplify.

2 + 26

Your answer is C. =)

First, distribute the 2 into (4x+7) you will get 8x+14
Second, distriute the -3 into (2x-4) you will get -6x+12
Right now you should have 8x+14 -6x+12
Now, combine like terms.
In the end you should get 2x+26
So the answer is C.

The first thing to do is distribute the 2 and the -3. This makes the problem much easier. It is very important to distribute -3 and not just 3.
So:
2(4x + 7) becomes 8x + 14
and -3(2x - 4) becomes -6x +12
(note the positive 12)
So now all you have to do is combine like terms.
8x +14 -6x + 12 = 2x + 26
so the answer is c

2(4x + 7) - 3(2x - 4) =

(8x + 14) - (6x - 12)=

Remove parenthesis

8x + 14 - 6x + 12

Collect like terms

8x - 6x + 14 + 12

2x + 26

- - - -

The answer is C

- - - - - - - - -

The answer can have one move step

2x + 26

factor out the 2

2(x + 13)

First, distribute

2(4x+7)-3(2x-4)
8x+14-6x+12

Combine like terms

2x+14+12
2x+26

The answer is C. 2x+26

here is how you work it...

First Distribute, so it looks like this
(8x+14)-(6x-12)

Then do your subraction:
8x+14-6x+12
=2x+26

So C is the right answer!!!
