I think my favourite ever announcer was Tony Schiavone. I loved his commentary during the early SummerSlam's and on Monday Nitro during the Monday Night Wars.
While my favourite colour commentrary was Jerry 'The King' Lawler during the early 90's. Some of the disses he came out with were legendary, and had me in stitches. It's a shame though, because now he is a shadow of his former self and its sad to see.

Vince was an excellent announcer in his announcing days, as was Ed Whalen, Jesse Ventura was a pretty good colour man. You just never knew where Jesse would verbally strike next.
The best announcer of all time, however, was Gordon Solie. He actualy described action, he told you what was going on, not just what you had already seen for yourself. As far as colour commentary, remember vintage Bobby Heenan? When he tossed the script, and just let things fall out of his mouth, he was hilariously fantastic.

Foster Hewitt is plenty and away the better of all time. lots of the folk listed under are too youthful to have heard Foster yet he's the excellent. on the instant it incredibly is incredibly useful to comprise Jim Hughson as CBC nevertheless does an outstanding interest looking reliable hockey adult adult males.
