If it got more young people voting, I wouldn't care. Unfortunately, I doubt that there will be any rise in young people voting in the next Presidential election.

The sad thing, is that the people of this country have turned these presidential elections into certifiable popularity contests. There will be many who vote for Barack because he is young, and black, there will be many who vote for Hillary because she is a woman, there will be many who vote for Giuliani, just because he happened to be mayor when the 9/11 attacks happened.
It's all just a big popularity contest. Most people who support the candidates that they do, could not have a realistic talk for 1 second about foreign policy, or any of the important issues.
I guess that is the only reason I love the Ron Paul camp. I have seen other candidates supporters back down, but I have never seen Ron Paul supporters lose a debate about the important issues. But then again, the truth will usually win most of those debates.

Just great it shows the lack of thought in the youth of this nation if they would turn the election of the most important leader in the world to a student council race where being hip is their only concern. This would show that the youth of this nation are a long way from being able to take responsibility for anything both in the corporate or governmental sector.

ANYTHING that gets more Americans voting is a good thing. Hopefully, if the "hip" factor actually draws the young Americans in, once they're in they'll also start noticing the issues, and choose whoever best represents THEM... Obama included.

I really believe Obama is qualified. The thing is, most of you voted for Bush and look where that got you. Today's youth are realizing the stakes of this election. Homework is getting done and the score on the test...will be delivered 2008.

He is not hip. He is not cool. Obama will not win the nomination. He is already making ignorant statements and the election is 500 days away. I see him as another Howard Dean.

I was considering him but then when I actually did my research and found out where he stands on the issues.. I changed... He's just the same cookie cutter poltician who'll make promises but won't keep them.. No thank you.. I'll have someone real
