3 time all-star
1990 ROY

ALCS MVP
ranked 92cd all time in slugging %
ranked 94th all-time in in OPS
ranked 74th all[time in AB/HR
carrer .279 batting avg
305 homeruns
1017 RBI's
929 runs
1571 hits
903 BB

I'm going to have to go with no. He had a nice career, was a very good clutch player. But the Hall is for GREAT players.

You kind of answered the question when you listed him being in the 90's for career ranks in SLG, and OPS.

There should be special sections in the Hall.
Cheaters= Bonds, Palmiero
Gamblers=Rose, Cobb
Wife Beaters= David Justice

o.k., scratch that last one.

no, it's the hall of fame, not the hall of good. not even close to 500 homers or 3000 hits. not even a .300 avg. nope.

No - he's nowhere near the Hall of Fame.

305 homers and 1571 hits for a corner outfielder in an era of high offensive totals? There have been literally dozens of guys who are better than him and have no chance at making the Hall of Fame.

Consider the most statistically similar players list for Justice. The most similar players are Tim Salmon and Ryan Klesko, who are both very similar, and also nowhere near HOFers. Of the ten most similar, only Larry Doby is a HOFer, and he was the first black player in the American League, on top of which he was better than Justice in the ways they were different. Andruw Jones will probably make it, but he's got another 8-10 years left in him, and probably wouldn't make it if he retired today.

Stranger things have happened, but I seriously doubt Justice will gain election. Lots of "very good" seasons but only a few that scraped the underside of "great" (okay, 1997 was genuinely great).

Managed to blow having lifelong snugglebunnies with Halle Berry, so losing out on Cooperstown probably won't be the worst disappointment in his lifetime.

not unless its a very weak class, which 2008 is going to be.
his average is too low to get in as a contact hitter
his 300 homeruns are too few to get him in for power, especially in the steroid era
he was good, but he wasn't necesarily memorable
but the choice is left to the voters, and no one really thinks that they have any idea of what they're doing, so justice could get lucky

I did like him a lot, but I don't think his numbers are HOF worthy. In this era, tons of players can get 300 homeruns, and a .279 batting average isn't amazing. He might get in on a weak ballot in a few years, but definetely not in 2008.

His numbers are decent but i don't know if it's enough for him to be in the Hall.
