I do believe, at some point, we must all grow up. I don't think whining is particularly acceptable at any age, but it is more tolerable from a child who has not yet learned that they may not always have their way. I've encountered children who have never heard the word no, however, who are completely out of hand when denied. Why, just the other day, I watched a child knock his mothers purchase off of the counter, at the store in which I found myself, and across the floor! This was all because he didn't get what he'd asked for. After throwing said item across the floor, he flung himself on the ground and cried and screamed to the top of his lungs. Now, I would hope to never see an adult do this, but there are some that I wonder if they might not secretly behave as such in the privacy of their own home.

Once you've got a career, and not just a job. there's no saying what age you'll be when that happens. and, you can still do it on weekends and such, thats a given... just don't talk about it at work. As long as you and your friends are cool with it, though, then its still ok. Just don't let drinking and sleeping in get in the way of work!

I'd say.. if you don't have a steady full time job with a path towards a career after you've gotten your DEGREE (degree, mind you.. not just leaving college) after about 2 years.. then it becomes kind of pathetic.

I dont think its ever unacceptable as long as you have a job and function. Its when you no longer function that it becomes socially unacceptable.
Party on!

Show me in the "Manual of Life" where it actually says that it's unacceptable to wake up at two or later.
I've looked, it's not in there.

If you have a job and you're working full time, then you can sleep as late as you want on Saturday. (As long as you don't have to work.)

It depends. I'm in my 40's and it's still acceptable in certain places, New Orleans for one.
