I'm planning on moving in early December, but I want to start saving and buying common neccessities now. Is it too early to start going to view apartments now? What is the general procedure for situations like this?

You should start viewing now to see what is out there and at what prices. You want to be somewhat familliar with the rental real estate market so you don't get ripped off and also know what to look for in gettin the best apartment for your money.

where is this?

everywhere i've ever wanted an apartment [several major cities in USA], they've never really wanted to see me until at most 90 days prior to my target movein. Specific units just aren't know that far in advance, since most leases are 30 or 60 days notice to renew or vacate.

It depends on whether or not you have bought it yet. I suggest you view the apartment last. You should try and do research on the area first, and get necessary lawyers to make things easier for you.

WAIT A FEW MONTHS. IF YOU KNOW THE BUILDING YOU WANT, ASK TO SEE A VACANT UNIT. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO BUY THE APARTMENT, THIS WOULD NOT BE TO EARLY.
